Dr. Ron Paul praises new movie 'Alongside Night' for promoting the cause of liberty
LOS ANGELES, June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- During an interview with Author/Director J Neil Schulman on the Ron Paul Channel posted June 21, 2014, Dr. Ron Paul praised his new movie, "Alongside Night" (starring Kevin Sorbo/Hercules and God's Not Dead) by emphasizing, "I'd like to mention to the viewers, hopefully when you get the chance take a look at this movie, read the book. Neil's worked hard in the libertarian movement. And we'd like to move it along and get it a lot of attention because that's exactly what we want to do on this program, on this channel, is to promote the cause of liberty and I believe 'Alongside Night' will do that."

When asked by Dr. Ron Paul if the movie appeals to college students who he frequently visits, Neil explained, "The young people who you inspired are in fact the audience for Alongside Night, and my main viewpoint character in both the novel and movie is a teenager played by a 16-yr-old actor named Christian Kramme as Elliott Vreeland...whose father Dr Martin Vreeland is a Nobel Prize winning free-market economist played by Kevin Sorbo and loosely based on libertarian economists such as Murray Rothbard, Milton Friedman, and Friedrich Hayek."
Dr. Ron Paul actually appears in the near-future political thriller "Alongside Night" in exclusive news footage from a political rally, where he talks about a pending collapse of the dollar (filmed by Patrick Kirby, one of the DPs for the film.)
In closing, Dr Ron Paul commended "Alongside Night" by adding, "I'm sure a lot of our viewers are going to be very interested in the movie and what you have done and they'll be fascinated with it, and anything that moves the cause of liberty along in the direction I like, the more I like to see the success."
About: The "Alongside Night" film is based on the 1979 novel, praised by Anthony Burgess (A Clockwork Orange), authored by Twilight Zone writer J. Neil Schulman, who also scripted and directed. Schulman says he wrote "Alongside Night" to solve the problem that Ayn Rand raises in "Atlas Shrugged". The movie is now being shown through TUGG.com in selected theaters, and the next five screenings include: June 24 (Lancaster, New Hampshire), June 26 (in conjunction with the National Libertarian Party Convention in Columbus, Ohio), July 8(th) (Las Vegas, Nevada) and July 14(th) (red carpet screening with Kevin Sorbo in Beverly Hills, California). http://alongsidenightmovie.com
