Paul Simon Headed To Cooperstown For The 75th Anniversary Of The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum

- AUGUST 2 CONCERT EVENT TO FEATURE TOP RECORDING ARTISTS, FILM, TELEVISION AND BASEBALL CELEBRITIES -

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Twelve-time GRAMMY Award winner and longtime baseball fan Paul Simon, a two-time Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame Inductee, has joined the lineup for a concert in celebration of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum's 75(th) Anniversary on Saturday, August 2, produced by LGH19 Productions.

The concert event will take place in Cooperstown at the Clark Sports Center, site of the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and will feature the world-renowned Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, as well as Bernie Williams, a four-time World Series Champion member of the New York Yankees and a GRAMMY nominee.

"We are thrilled that LGH19 Productions has secured legendary musician Paul Simon for the 75th Anniversary Celebration Concert to benefit the Baseball Hall of Fame," said Jeff Idelson, President of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. "I had the pleasure of touring Paul through the Hall of Fame's collections in 2006 when he performed at Doubleday Field and now understand first-hand his passion and respect for baseball and its role in American culture. He donated a copy of his famed "Mrs. Robinson," in which he sings of Joe DiMaggio, to the Hall of Fame Library during his 2006 tour, and I can not think of a more fitting musician to pair with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra".

Currently on a 20 city tour with Sting, Paul Simon will perform three songs at the concert event, which will celebrate baseball through music, film and video.

Produced by LGH19 Productions, musicians, baseball stars and celebrities from film and television will all come together for one magical night in August among the cornfields and rolling hills of pastoral Cooperstown, the symbolic home of baseball. Compelling multimedia will assure that the two hour event is memorable. More events are being built to compliment the live program and an on-going on-line charity auction is currently taking place.
