Luckett & Farley's Media + Entertainment Group Creates World-Class Multimedia Venue: iHeartRADIO Theater LA
Firm Partners with Clear Channel in Building First-of-Its-Kind Space in Los Angeles
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Luckett & Farley's Media + Entertainment Group (http://www.luckett-farley.com/media-entertainment), one the nation's foremost architects, engineers and designers of television and radio facilities, performance venues and creative-media workplaces, today announced that it has completed work on iHeartRADIO Theater LA, Clear Channel Media + Entertainment's newest 21,000-square-foot multimedia venue. It served as the architect, engineer and interior designer for this first-of-its-kind project.

iHeartRADIO Theater LA is unique by virtue of its multi-functionality. It will be an industry-leading space for intimate, live music performances, which will then be broadcast to multiple media platforms nationwide. Clear Channel will also utilize the location for corporate events and town hall meetings. Finally, it will serve as the setting for state of the art "red carpet" movie premieres and screenings.
"Each function had its own set of specific, non-interrelated requirements -- our challenge was to bring them all together into one comprehensive design," notes William J. Hallisky, project manager and senior designer for the Media + Entertainment Group. "Thanks to outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork and the ability to convert vision into reality, we were able to design and build an industry-defining space unlike any other in the Los Angeles area."
Other highlights include: production areas for audio, radio and video control -- all of which are located on-site and support all live streams; boxed luxury seating on the VIP/mezzanine level; hospitality and VIP suites with private bathrooms and pantries; well-appointed, artist-friendly dressing rooms with private restrooms, hair and makeup stations; an interactive high definition LED multimedia wall; and a sculptural, monumental steel staircase. Sustainable and authentic materials, including wood, concrete, stone and steel, are used throughout and the space is adorned with original iHeartRADIO artwork.
Luckett & Farley's Media + Entertainment Group supervised all professional consultants, including mechanical, engineering, plumbing and structural, and also orchestrated the project's theatrical lighting and sound elements. iHeartRADIO Theater LA builds upon the Group's long-term client relationship with Clear Channel. They have worked with the company on its National Programming Platforms/iHeartRADIO headquarters space in New York City, as well as a multitude of projects in major markets across the U.S.
Located at Stage 3, inside Burbank Studios (formerly known as NBC Studios) in California, the theater is situated in the historic spot where "The Tonight Show," starring Johnny Carson, once aired and where Jay Leno broadcasts from today. It was also the first television studio ever to be used exclusively for color broadcasting.
"We enjoyed partnering with Clear Channel to transform this space from a television studio into the world-class multiple use venue it is today," says Hallisky.
