5th Annual Poker Run Benefiting Miriam's House Sponsored By Bartels Harley-Davidson And Featuring Rusty Coones From The Show "Sons of Anarchy"

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bartels Harley-Davidson to host the 5th Annual Miriam's House Charity Motorcycle Rideand Party to benefit The Promises Foundation.

Rusty Coones from the FX series Sons of Anarchy and Attika 7 guitarist signed on as Grand Marshal and will lead the group of motorcyclists on a 30-mile ride through West Los Angeles and Malibu. "It's an honor to support events like this for organizations that do so much good in the community," says Coones.

All riders are welcome to participate in the ride. All non-riders, friends and supporters are welcome to join the event at Bartels. Food and drinks will be served starting at noon with the help of the Art Institute Culinary School volunteers. Route map will be provided at check-in ending back at Bartels for the party and fundraiser. The charity ride and event is being coordinated and co-sponsored with the generous support of the Messengers of Recovery motorcycle club.

"We are so thankful to all our friends from the motorcycle community who have come out to support us year after year," said Bryan Moeller, chairman of the board of directors of the Promises Foundation. Every dollar raised will help the women and kids at Miriam's House right here in West LA to build new lives and futures filled with hope. This year will certainly be a blast as we rev up once again with a real son of anarchy. We're hoping for an outstanding turnout."

This year's event, which is the fifth year, features live music, dozens of vendors, a raffle and silent auction. Live band performances by South Bay legend, Kevin Sousa and the hard-rocking Mercy and the Machine.

All net proceeds will go to the Promises Foundation to support Miriam's House; a transitional home for women and their children that provides a one-year program of recovery services, parenting education, career guidance, scholarships and a pathway to permanent housing. The Promises Foundation is a nonprofit, 501c3 organization.

WHEN: November 10(th), 2013 from 9am-3pm. Rider check-in and free pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Bartels. The main group of riders leaves at 11 a.m. sharp. BBQ and party held back at Bartels starting at noon.
