Driehaus Museum Announces Lineup of New Fall Programs

CHICAGO, Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Driehaus Museum offers fascinating lectures, concerts, its popular annual murder mystery, and more! The lineup for September through November 2013 follows:

Italian Carnivale (Sept. 30): Let the Rembrandt Chamber Players sweep you away to classical Italy! The voyage features a magnificent Rossini sonata, Stravinsky's Suite Italienne; and the debut of Peter Labella's arrangement of The Carnival of the Animals.

Songs of La Belle Époque (Oct. 13): Experience France's "Beautiful Era" through the talented soprano Nathalie Colas and pianist Eugenia Cheng, as they present works of the period's celebrated composers, including Debussy and Faure. Presented with PianoForte Foundation.

Murder Mystery at the Marble Palace(Oct. 25, 26): The Museum's popular murder mystery returns with a new tale filled with twists and turns, guaranteeing a to-die-for evening! Ticket includes drinks, light fare, and desserts. This event will sell out; purchase tickets early!

The Civic Hall & New Town of Cayalá, Guatemala (Oct. 29): University of Notre Dame associate professor and architect Richard Economakis discusses New Urbanism-inspired Cayalá and the civic hall he designed to anchor the town center. Presented with ICAA.

Jazz for the Journey (Nov. 7): Before embarking on winter holiday journeys, enjoy an evening of jazz standards with a traveling theme! A quartet of Chicago Jazz Orchestra musicians will play favorites like "Sweet Home Chicago" and "A Night in Tunisia."

Sounds of the Season(Nov. 23): Stop by the Museum's front porch before the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival! Once again this year, the talented Festive Singers, dressed in period attire, will be singing holiday carols.
