Schedule Starts on September 7th with Folsom at Granite Bay
LIVERMORE, Calif., Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast Hometown Network (CHN), Comcast's regional cable network covering Northern and Central California, today announced that it will televise 23 high school football games this season (see complete schedule below). In its fifth year of covering prep football, CHN's games will continue to appear under the banner of "Xfinity High School Sports," and will be available on Channel 104 to Comcast digital cable customers. The telecasts kick off on Saturday, September 7(th) at 7:30 p.m. with Granite Bay High School hosting Folsom High School.

"These exciting, marquee contests remain a key component of our local and regional programming that viewers can't get anywhere else."
Play-by-play announcers for Comcast Hometown Network's high school football games will be veteran minor league baseball announcer Joe Castellano, Stockton Ports announcer Zack Bayrouty, and Dave Lewis (KCBS, UC Berkeley women's basketball). San Jose SaberCats head coach Darren Arbet, former UC Davis and University of Nevada Reno football announcer Scott Gordon, and former Colorado State football playerMarty Lenz will split the color analyst duties.
In addition to Granite Bay and Folsom, CHN's high school football schedule features many of the top prep teams in Northern and Central California, including perennial powers De La Salle, Bellarmine, Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa), Del Oro, Serra, Valley Christian and Monte Vista.
The "Xfinity High School Sports" prep contests will premiere on Comcast Hometown Network (Channel 104), and will be replayed several times. In addition, the 23 complete games will also be available any time of the day or night via Comcast's popular On Demand platform, which is free to Comcast digital customers. To view Comcast Hometown Network games On Demand, Comcast Digital Cable customers can tune to Channel 1 on their Digital Cable lineup or press the On Demand button on their remote control, then click on the "Get Local" section, then click on "Sports," and select"High School Sports" and then "Football."
Comcast Hometown Network (www.comcasthometown.com) continues to be one of the top destinations for local sports coverage. The network is in its fifth season of airing LIVE minor league baseball games -- this year televising games from the California League and the Pacific Coast League, featuring the San Jose Giants and the Fresno Grizzlies. In addition, CHN also televises key high school basketball matchups featuring prominent prep programs throughout Northern and Central California. Comcast Hometown Network has also televised San Jose SaberCats games from the Arena Football League, San Francisco Bulls and Stockton Thunder ECHL hockey contests, and college football and basketball games.
