Dream Big America Weekly Winner Announced; Looky Loo Light Advances to Finals Show on July 30

Next Slate of Three Contestants Announced for July 23 Show

KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Dream Big America, the first-ever live nationally syndicated radio show pitting start-up business ventures against each other, and broadcast on Doug Stephan's Good Day Show (www.dougstephan.com) each Tuesday at 9:10 am EDT, announced today the winner from the July 16 debut show. Looky Loo Light from Kansas City, Missouri (www.lookyloolight.com), and presented by CEO Allison Carenza, received the most votes from the nationwide audience. The Looky Loo Light enables photographers to achieve the impossible: capture the attention of children during a photo shoot.

Voting was robust for the second weekly show, which included two other contestants, The ReWall Company from Des Moines, Iowa (www.rewallmaterials.com), and Froovie from Sunnyvale, California (www.froovieorganics.com). The competition was very close, with all three contestants separated by less than ten percent.

"We had three really strong business ventures this week," said Doug Stephan, host of Dream Big America. "I felt they were not only well-prepared, but very interesting to listeners across the country. There is no doubt that each will be successful. Congratulations to Looky Loo Light. They are the second finalist for the Finals Show on July 30th."

Immediately after the announcement of this week's winner, Dream Big America announced its next slate of three entrepreneur contestants for the July 23 show. The three business ventures selected to present are:

LifeIce (www.lifeice.com), based in New York, New York, is the world's first all natural, freeze and eat, bite-sized ices with superfood ingredients. CEO Paulette Fox will present LifeIce's two-minute pitch.

Bawte (www.bawte.com), based in Des Moines, Iowa, is a companion app for everything an individual own. Bawte makes owning things simple. Presenting Bawte's two-minute pitch will be CEO John Jackovin.

WeCounsel (www.wecounsel.com), based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a HIPAA compliant cloud-based technology that enables mental health providers to communicate and interact with clients in an online setting. Presenting WeCounsel's two-minute pitch will be CTO Joshua Goldberg.

Dream Big America (www.DreamBigAmerica.us) airs each Tuesday at 9:10am to 9:40am EDT on Doug Stephan's Good Day Program, syndicated to 485 markets across the United States with a weekly listening audience of 3.5 million. In addition to being broadcast on the radio, the Dream Big America Show can be heard via live podcast on the DreamBigAmerica.us website.

Voting begins immediately after the show at approximately 10:00 am EDT and continues for 28 hours until 2:00 pm EDT each Wednesday. Voting is by text (Text DBA to 612-22-DREAM (612-223-7326) once voting is live) or via the DreamBigAmerica.us website. The winner of each weekly show is announced every Thursday on the Good Day Show at 9:50am EDT.

Each weekly winner faces off in the Finals Show on the last Tuesday of each month. The national audience again votes for its favorite business venture, and the Finals winner receives cash, support and resources for their business.

The Dream Big America Show features three entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas for two minutes each, followed by a rotating panel of three acclaimed business leaders who offer feedback and suggestions. Tapping into the surging entrepreneurial movement spreading across the country, Dream Big America strives to educate and support start-ups, all while providing an exciting venue for America to choose which new businesses it wants to see hit the market.

Dream Big America partners with the Kansas City-based Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation (www.kauffman.org) and its 1 Million Cups (www.1millioncups.com) startup education program, and the San Diego-based Nutritional Capital Network (www.nutritioncapital.com). Each organization supports the show by providing vetted start-up ventures for consideration to the Dream Big America selection committee.
