Over 400 Children 'Rise Up' for Music Funding with the Rise Up Project

New performance DVD and CD to raise awareness and funds for Chandler, Arizona school

LOS ANGELES, May 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- A new initiative focused on raising awareness for school music funding titled "Rise Up Project" (www.riseupproject.org) has united the Chandler, Arizona school Bright Beginnings with the Los Angeles-based Cavalier Artist Group to produce a performance DVD and CD. The performance features over 400 children singing in a large group concert.

"We needed to share with the world the beautiful voices of these children," said Sarah Burke, music teacher with Bright Beginnings. "I dreamt about how this could happen and thought of creating and recording a live performance. From the sale of CDs and DVDs, our school could buy much-needed music supplies such as microphones and risers. But, more importantly, we could create something that has a lasting impact on our kids."

To realize this vision Sarah contacted longtime friend Kent Hertz with the Cavalier Music Group. Kent is a music producer, writer and engineer who has worked with such artists as Michael Jackson, Steve Miller, Beyonce and Gloria Estefan.

"I didn't hesitate to help with the project," said Kent. "Music plays an important part in my life and doing something to help raise consciousness about music funding in schools is essential. We need music programs in schools to build confidence and creativity. It was an amazing experience to film over 400 children singing all at once."

A web site (www.riseupproject.org) has been created to expand awareness of the "Rise Up Project" and for accepting direct contributions to the campaign. A Kickstarter campaign has also been introduced offering unique experiences such as "Rock Star for a Day" and will be available until June 30th.
