Hollywood's New 'Olympus Has Fallen' Won't Feature the First Terrorist Attack on the White House, Says 'The Other President' Author E.N.J. Carter

NEW YORK, March 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- With their new blockbuster movie, 'Olympus Has Fallen' author E.N.J. Carter wonders where the screenwriters got their inspiration for the movie since his original paperback released in 2003, and currently a popular e-book thriller on Kindle, titled 'The Other President', has a similar plot in that the White House is overrun by terrorists and destroyed, and the President is eventually saved by a Secret Service Agent.

"I haven't seen the movie," says Carter, "but the trailer sure gives me a creepy feeling.

"Actually I completed the manuscript for 'The Other President' right after 9/11. Of course I believe the plot in my book goes further than the White House being destroyed piece by piece; and my President is not held hostage, but no matter how you look at it, the basic premise of the White House being overrun by terrorists in 'Olympus Has Fallen' and destroyed, is the same as my thriller, 'The Other President'.

"Of course, we all know the Constitution does not protect a good idea. If that were true Hollywood might not be in business," says Carter with just a hint of resentment.

"Then again writers come up with the same idea all the time. In this case, however, my premise was nine years ahead of the movie.

"I'd be glad to send the producers a free e-book copy of 'The Other President' if they don't have one already," says Carter.
