Virgin America's First Flight Touches Down In Portland

Virgin America's First Flight Touches Down In Portland

Award-winning Low-Fare, High-Style Airline Lands at PDX and Toasts First Flight Guests at a Portland-themed Party in a Hangar with the star of IFC's hit show "Portlandia" Kyle MacLachlan, Portland Mayor Sam Adams and Virgin America President and CEO David Cush

WHAT: Virgin America, the award-winning domestic airline, is celebrating the launch of its new low-fare, upscale nonstop service to
Portland International Airport (PDX) with a red-carpet welcome for its first commercial flight guests from San Francisco
International Airport (SFO) to Portland International Airport (PDX). The airline is hosting a Portland-themed Hangar celebration
for its first guests, teammates and friends - just off the runway. Known for its inventive design and amenities like hip
moodlighting, fleetwide WiFi and a touch-screen entertainment platform at every seat, the airline has teamed up with IFC around its
hit show "Portlandia" to help launch the new service via a unique Facebook promotion. The "Arts and Aircrafts" Facebook app invites
Portlanders to help bring the style back to flying by allowing them to upload their favorite photos and "put a bird on it" - to score
a 20% discount off Virgin America flights. The top voted photo winners will join the Portland hangar party and score free PDX
flights and a two-night hotel stay.

At a time when most U.S. airlines have been cutting capacity, Virgin America is growing and bringing needed nonstop competition from
California's largest airports to PDX. As a new low-fare airline, Virgin America's growth into the PDX market - with two daily
nonstop flights from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and one daily nonstop flight from SFO - will support local jobs,
stimulate travel and tourism and spur the increased competition that drives lower fares and better service. For more on the
"Portlandia" promotion, visit: http://apps.facebook.com/artsandaircrafts/tab. For more on Virgin America, visit:
