Content Innovation Studio, Let There Be Dragons, Launches

Jennifer Golub to head up unit as Executive Director of Content

LOS ANGELES, May 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- A new content innovation studio, Let There Be Dragons, launched today in Los Angeles. The studio, headed up by veteran producer, Jennifer Golub, specializes in creating and promoting ideas and intellectual property for brands and direct to consumers.

"I have had the good fortune to work among giants and helped them build their dreams, including Lee Clow, Steve Jobs and, recently, Frank Gehry," said Jennifer Golub. "Drawing from the extensive resources at TBWA, we are building our own intellectual property, that Let There Be Dragons will co-own with the authors.

"We are a lean and nimble enterprise, able to move at the speed of culture and opportunity. We are uniquely poised at the site of invention for entertainment and digital content. Hollywood, Silicon Valley. California."

Let There Be Dragons is a standalone Omnicom Inc. offering, which draws upon the talents of TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles, including Lee Clow, Carisa Bianchi and Rob Schwartz, who all sit on the board as chairmen of Let There Be Dragons.

"Content comes in many forms," said TBWA\Worldwide's Global Director of Media Arts, Lee Clow. "And Jennifer and her team have the ambition, desire, and talent to create more of it. On behalf of brands. And for the world at large."

The leadership team will curate concepts and bring these ideas to life through development with outside talent and production partners.

Carisa Bianchi, President of TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles, commented, "We have an immensely talented pool of individuals with passion projects that they would love to see brought to life. Let There Be Dragons gives a home to those ideas and the opportunity for us to help them realize those projects."

At launch, Let There Be Dragons already has three very different projects in market - a book, a film for Frank Gehry architects and a campaign for shelter dogs.

-- For four decades, Lee Clow has created and shepherded the kind of
advertising ideas that moves businesses and moves us emotionally.
Dallas-based copywriter Jason Fox, equally moved by Lee Clow's work,
decided to channel Lee's wisdom into 140-character tweets under the
Twitter handle @leeclowsbeard. Now, with over 26,000 followers, the
hugely successful Twitter feed has been transformed into a book -- also
titled leeclowsbeard. www.leeclowsbeard.com
-- Consulting with Frank Gehry on a confidential project for the renowned
architects.
-- NKLA is an initiative of Best Friends Animal Society and is a LA-city
wide program to put a stop to the euthanasia of healthy shelter dogs
through awareness of adoption and putting a stop to the over population
of animals in the first place, by educating and providing subsidized
spay and neuter programs. www.nkla.org
In addition to these three projects, there are currently ten projects under exploration for development, ranging in nature from films and games, to books and apps.

The name of the entity comes from 16th century cartography. Jennifer explains, "When map-makers had to identify uncharted waters, they labeled them, "There be Dragons." We love the challenge of the uncharted waters of new content and new media. We're saying bring on the dragons. We're ready to slay them."

Let There Be Dragons, in keeping with their indie passions and vibe, has an office that can move with them, having renovated and transformed a previous political campaigning bus into their new home.

Jeff Allsbrook is the architect who designed the interior of our Let There Be Dragons bus. We want to make sure that he and his firm Standard receives credit and Benny Chan receives photo credit for the bus imagery.
