Classic Tales of Terror from Edgar Allan Poe See New Vision in "Requiem for the Damned"

NEW YORK, Nov. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Hannover House, the operating division of Target Development Group, Inc. (Pinksheets: TDGI), will present an anthology collection of short films based on the writings of horror legend Edgar Allan Poe with the March 6, 2012 home video release of "Edgar Allan Poe's Requiem for the Damned." The timing of the home video release is pegged to provide maximum promotional benefit from the March 9, 2012 national theatrical release of "The Raven" starring John Cusack and Brendan Gleeson, which is also based on the writings of Poe.

Hannover House acquired the worldwide rights to "Requiem for the Damned" from Allegheny Image Factory at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010, when the film was in pre-production. Originally slated for a July 2011 release, the film was delayed due to production enhancements, which ultimately benefited the project by creating a coattail opportunity with the promotions and ads behind the release of "The Raven."

"Requiem for the Damned" features five contemporary presentations of classic tales of terror by Edgar Allen Poe, including "The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Tell Tale Heart," "The Black Cat," "The Pit and the Pendulum" and "Murders in the Rue Morgue." Supervising producer for the project was Robert Tinnell ("Airspeed," "Believe") with segments directed by Johnny Bones, Tony Baez Milan, Aaron J. Shelton, Anthony Vingas and Tinnell. Writers engaged to adapt the Poe stories were Robert F. Keith along with segment directors Milan, Shelton and Tinnell. Producers were Jason Baker, Mike Berry, Johnny Jones, Theresa Danko, Richard R. Nelson and Shelton, with Jeffrey Tinnell and Jeffrey D. Imbrescia serving as Executive Producers.

Hannover House has enjoyed enhanced success in the home video market recently, due in part to strong retail support for "Turtle: The Incredible Journey" as well as mass merchant commitments for titles such as "All's Faire in Love" and "Boggy Creek: The Legend is True." Pricing for the home video units of "Requiem for the Damned" has been set to provide maximum retail penetration at retail outlets and impulse-shopping affordability. DVDs will be priced at $14.95 suggested retail, with a Minimum Advertised Price of $8.88, and Blu-ray units will be priced at $19.95 suggested retail with a Minimum Advertised Price of $11.96. In addition to placements with mass merchants and video specialty shops, Hannover House anticipates support from rental kiosks, on-line outlets, and book stores.
