Ten Years Later World Trade Center Song Is Still a Message of Hope and Peace

Ten Years Later World Trade Center Song Is Still a Message of Hope and Peace

SAINT CLAIR SHORES, Mich., Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- It was nearly ten years ago when the world changed as we knew it. We all remember where we were and what we were doing on that tragic day. Many of us were at work, some on vacation. Jason Karman was in school. "Class was in session, and all of a sudden everything stopped and they turned the TV on. What was shown was just unbelievable," as he recalls. None of us knew what really would happen next and Jason did what musicians do best - tried to capture the feelings and events in a song. That day he wrote the lyrics and most of the music of what was to become "The World Trade Center Song."

Despite the open wound topic, the lyrics have an underlying message of hope and peace: "We can find a way to get along." Still today there is trouble even on our very own soil, not to mention other places in the world. As the anniversary comes and even after it goes, we can all keep in mind that we are not too much different from one another.

The song made its public debut about a week ago on the Internet. Currently the song is not for sale, but can be streamed from numerous sources including Facebook, ReverbNation, and YouTube. People who have listened to the song have remarked about how the song is a different type of song. Unlike how most songs are about getting up and fighting, this song is about remembering and having a better tomorrow. It is also a good song for reflecting on the events, as one listener has stated, "We will never forget, but our future generations should also know and remember what happened."

Jason Karman performs in the musical group Butterknife Wives. Butterknife Wives' music has been played on FM radio as far as Europe. They have been featured on LiveDetroit.tv and The Musicians Social Club Radio. During the band's September 4th interview on The Rikki Roxx Effect, Jason and the band played a sped-up acoustic version of "The World Trade Center Song."
