Salem High Senior Ka Kim Fung Named 2011 Cox Communications/ACCESS College Scholarship Recipient

~ACCESS College Foundation manages endowed scholarship on behalf of Cox~

CHESAPEAKE, Va., June 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ka Kim Fung of Salem High School in Virginia Beach is the 2011 winner of the Cox Communications/ACCESS College Scholarship. Cox Communications presents this award annually to a deserving student through the ACCESS College Foundation program.

Fung plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University in the fall and will be majoring in Computer Software Engineering. The Cox endowed scholarship is valued at $1,000 and ACCESS College Foundation will match it for a total of $2,000.

The Cox scholarship recognizes an exemplary local high school student pursuing a post-secondary degree in technology as part of an annual partnership with ACCESS College Foundation that began in 2007.

ACCESS College Foundation employs advisors in the 29 public high schools in South Hampton Roads, as well as 19 middle schools throughout the region. ACCESS College Foundation advisors help students and their families navigate the college application and financial aid processes.
