Danni Rosner's Song 'In The City' Debuts on Tony Danza A&E Series 'Teach'
WASHINGTON, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Danni Rosner was born into a creative family. With a jazz pianist father and an artistic mother, her musical strengths developed through experimentation and improvisation.
Although just in her 20s, Danni has the mature sensibility and spirit of a renaissance woman. She's lived in both Italy and Japan, traveled and performed throughout Europe and the Middle East, and presently resides in Washington, D.C. where she maintains a full time position as national television host of Strictly Global on MHz Networks. In 2009, she fearlessly competed in Amateur Night at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem...and won! But it is her passion for songwriting that fuels this momentum.
Danni doesn't just reach out to listeners through her music, she builds relationships. Like your best friend musically baring her soul, Rosner writes about the ups and downs of being a twenty-something in a complicated world. There is an unfeigned sincerity in her approach that appeals to listeners of all ages. She makes you want to know more, and she's willing to share. While Rosner laughingly acknowledges that she's forgotten more music theory than she remembers, she was imbued with a deep love of music from an early age. Rosner would make up melodies and lyrics to her dad's playing, not knowing the songs were classics of the American Songbook or hits by artists such as The Doors, Chick Corea or even The Beatles. This taught Rosner to hear music without preconceptions, opening up a creative world that continues to serve her well. This intense musicality is apparent on each of Rosner's releases, her most recent 2010 EP "On My Way," and her breakout 2009 full length album, "Piano Actress," now available at select BestBuy stores.
Danni's song, "In The City" from the album "Piano Actress" will debut nationally on Friday, October 22, at 10PM EDT on the A&E television network show "Teach: Tony Danza." The series follows the first year-teacher as he instructs a 10th-grade English class at Philadelphia's Northeast High School. Like everything else in Rosner's career, the song getting placed on television was serendipitous. "I sent a Charlie Brown greeting card along with my album to a music supervisor in LA, I guess he liked Peanuts," she explains.
