Keeping Up with Kelly and Kim

Kelly Ripa and Kim Kardashian Star in Public Service Announcements for QVC Presents Super Saturday Live, Benefitting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF)

WEST CHESTER, Pa., July 12 /PRNewswire/ -- While it's always been about the letter "K" for Kelly Ripa and Kim Kardashian, it is now all about the letters "OCRF." As two of Tinseltown's most recognizable starlets, Ripa and Kardashian have teamed up to lend their support in finding a cure for one of the world's least recognizable cancers.

Ripa and Kardashian appear in both print and television public service announcements promoting QVC Presents Super Saturday Live on QVC Saturday, July 31 from 2 PM - 4 PM (ET), with net proceeds benefitting OCRF. The exclusive sale, which was previously only available to Hamptons' tastemakers and celebrities, will reach QVC's more than 98 million U.S. households, allowing shoppers throughout the country to get designer styles at HALF the manufacturer's suggested retail price.

Ripa, a longtime supporter of OCRF, has hosted Super Saturday for the past six years, and will once again host the event in the Hamptons. Currently in its 13th year, Super Saturday will be broadcast live for the fourth consecutive year on leading multimedia retailer QVC.

"It's been a pleasure for me to host Super Saturday for the past six years - it's a wonderful event that benefits such an important cause," said Ripa. "It's guilt-free shopping at bargain basement prices - no husband can argue with that, not even my own!"

"With more than 20,000 women being diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year, it's incredibly important that we spread the word so this number can be reduced," said Kardashian. "It's an honor for me to work with Kelly in helping to drive awareness for such a great cause."

"We're grateful to Kelly and Kim for lending their support and generously donating their time to help create much-needed awareness for this critical issue," said Claire Watts, president of U.S. Commerce for QVC.

"We're thrilled to join forces with QVC for the 13th annual Super Saturday," said Faith Kates Kogan, president of OCRF. "We're also very appreciative to Kelly and Kim for joining us in our fight against ovarian cancer. Together, we will make a difference in combating this deadly disease."

About Ovarian Cancer Research Fund

The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) is the largest private non-profit organization in the United States dedicated exclusively to funding ovarian cancer research. Our mission is to find a method of early detection and ultimately a cure for ovarian cancer. Each year there will be approximately 22,000 new cases of ovarian cancer in the United States, and about 15,500 women will die of the disease. Currently there is no effective means of early detection. Since 1998, OCRF has given over $33 million for ovarian cancer research. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, OCRF sponsored researchers are developing innovative strategies for early detection; exploring the genetics that increase risk for ovarian cancer; understanding the underlying molecular biology of the disease; identifying new and better targets for treatment; and deciphering how and why ovarian cancer spreads, and how to stop it.
