Taking Top Spots in Health and Fitness Programming
WESTPORT, Conn., July 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- dLifeTV welcomes its 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st Telly awards (formerly Cable Ace Awards) for excellence in cable television programming.
"What's most gratifying about winning more Telly Awards is that we win in the company of the highest quality broadcast competition. Great TV is storytelling, including diabetes stories. Living well with diabetes is not easy and the stories we tell, the people we profile, help our audience stay highly engaged with their diabetes," CEO and founder Howard Steinberg, says.
dLifeTV won the Highest Honor Award for the documentary, "When Religion Prevents Diabetes Care," a tragic story about how some children have paid the ultimate price for their parents' extreme religious views. Other dLifeTV winners included Outstanding Achievement Awards for "Jackie Robinson," "Bruce Linton: Iditarod Racer" and "When Religion Prevents Diabetes Care." All videos can be watched online at http://www.dlife.com/dlifeTv.
This year the Telly Awards joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted. Their votes along with the 500-person panel of judges decided the final winners for 2010. With over 200 categories, there were more than 12,000 submissions.
After 31 years, the Telly Awards still symbolize creative excellence and recognize the very best in cable TV programming.
