Legendary Brazilian maestro Sergio Mendes gained critical acclaim in the early '60s during his Bossa Rio Sextet tours in Brazil which led to his worldwide breakthrough with Brazil's 66 Group. Most recently, his works include the 1992 Grammy-winning milestone "Brasileiro" and his brilliant 2006 Concord Records release "Timeless." The album is described as a Brazilian music-meets-hip-hop collaboration with Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am.
