Lollapalooza Integrates Slacker Radio Into 2010 App for iPhone

Fans Who Listen To Slacker's Lollapalooza Station Can Add Bands to Their Custom Lollapalooza Schedule with One Touch

SAN DIEGO, June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Lollapalooza (www.Lollapalooza.com), Slacker, Inc. (www.Slacker.com) and Seed Labs (www.SeedLabs.com) today announced the release of the Lollapalooza 2010 iPhone app, which includes Slacker's Lollapalooza 2010 Radio, a free station offering a wide range of music from the 100+ bands that will take the stage at this year's event. The application, developed by Seed Labs, is now available in the iTunes App Store and features the Lollapalooza 2010 station along with the ability to seamlessly add artists heard on the station to your personal Lollapalooza event schedule.

Slacker worked together with Lollapalooza and Seed Labs to deliver, for the first time, a hand-crafted radio station coupled with a feature-packed event application. The station is programmed by Slacker music experts and the Lollapalooza team to deliver the most comprehensive and immersive experience possible for the event. As the festival nears, listeners will hear updates on the event, key artist information and details about the "can't miss" activities going on during the show. The Lollapalooza station can be accessed from the Lollapalooza 2010 app as well as by simply selecting "Lollapalooza 2010" from the Slacker Spotlight section from any Slacker application or by visiting www.Slacker.com/Lollapalooza from the web.

Lollapalooza and Slacker Radio created the station to prepare fans for the Festival, which begins on August 6th, 2010. Lollapalooza 2010 Radio includes music from bands performing at the show including Green Day, Soundgarden, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire and The Strokes. Before, during and after the show, fans can continue listening to the Lollapalooza station for news updates from the event and custom interviews with the performing artists.

"Lollapalooza 2010 Radio is a great way for fans to explore the bands playing Lollapalooza," said Michael Feferman, Digital Director for C3 Presents, the producers of Lollapalooza. "Over 75% of our fans utilize our custom scheduling technology to plan their Festival experience, and the deep integration of Slacker's radio station with that custom scheduling functionality makes the artist discovery process easier and more exciting for our fans."

"We are honored to be working alongside one of the biggest music events of the year to provide a truly unique experience," said Jonathan Sasse, senior vice president of marketing at Slacker. "For the first time, fans will be able to not only listen to the artists that will be performing, but also to read profiles and easily add them to their own personal Lollapalooza schedule."

Slacker worked closely with Seed Labs to provide an industry-first application that combines one of the most popular music services available with proven music festival application expertise to deliver the perfect Lollapalooza companion for the iPhone.

"We always wanted to integrate a custom radio experience with our musical festival applications," said Rick Solner, Co-Founder of Seed Labs. "By partnering with Slacker Radio we have intimately joined the utility of a mobile festival application with an immersive and discovery-based musical experience. I'm most excited about artist discovery. By simply listening to the embedded festival Slacker Player I now have the ability to add artists to my schedule and see those bands and artists that I may have missed or not known in past years."

Lollapalooza 2010 Radio can be accessed anywhere Slacker is available including on the web, BlackBerry smartphones, iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, Android-powered smartphones, webOS smartphones, Windows Mobile, Slacker-enabled Sony TVs or Blu-ray players or any of the different kinds of devices where Slacker is available today. Music fans with an iPhone or iPod touch will have instant access to the event's lineup and Slacker station along with artist profiles, album cover art and more by downloading the Lollapalooza application from iTunes.
