Matt Bretz Promoted to Executive Creative Director at The Ant Farm

LOS ANGELES, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Matt Bretz, 44, a highly regarded creative executive in the entertainment advertising community, has been promoted to Executive Creative Director at The Ant Farm, reporting to co-president, Cindy Hauser. Most recently serving as creative director, Bretz has been with The Ant Farm for approximately five years, and is known for highly creative advertising campaigns for major motion pictures, video games, and other entertainment properties. As ECD, Matt will focus on leading the agency's efforts to provide full-service strategy, creative and execution in the form of integrated campaigns across multiple media for all manner of entertainment properties.

In announcing Bretz's promotion, Chief Executive Officer Rodd Perry said, "I am thrilled to have Matt join the leadership of our agency. His unique creative sensibilities and strong strategic insights will help the continued growth and success of our agency."

Since joining the team in 2005 Bretz has written, directed and produced television advertising, trailers, corporate sizzle reels and a variety of other audiovisual marketing materials for clients as diverse as Disney Parks, YouTube and Xbox. Matt has created the launch advertising for world-recognized brands including the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch, Disney Parks' Expedition Everest: The Ride, and Bethesda Softworks' Fallout 3 - winner of Best Trailer at MI6 2008. Bretz is also a live action director for The Ant Farm's production division, having directed commercial shoots for Adventures by Disney, Disney Interactive Studios and Xbox.

Before joining The Ant Farm, Bretz headed his own marketing firm, La Posteria, where he created audiovisual materials for Disney Parks, DisneyToon Studios and Universal Home Entertainment. During this time he also created a multimillion-dollar print and television campaign for Coca-Cola and Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft in China. He began his career as a writer and broadcast producer at the Cimarron Group, where he created radio and TV advertising for Feld Entertainment's Disney on Ice for four years in succession, as well as for the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park.

Matt's background is in live theatre. He was the founding artistic director of the award-winning Circle X theatre company in Hollywood, where he still directs from time to time. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Penn State and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, having graduated from both summa cum laude.

Bretz lives in La Crescenta, California, with his wife Carolyn, a fashion designer, and daughter Violet, a seven-year-old aspiring pop star and big cat scientist.
