Rockie Lynne Releases Songs for Soldiers to Coincide With the Memorial Day Holiday

Inspiring Collection Pays Tribute to Those Who Serve Appearances set for "Fox & Friends," "Daytime," "Daily Buzz," "Better TV," "Laura Ingraham Show," and others

NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of Memorial Day comes a fitting tribute to our troops, from one of Nashville's most prolific singer/songwriters. Rockie Lynne (also a veteran of the United States Army), originally created his Songs for Soldiers CD as a gift for the troops he visited while touring overseas military bases in 2008-2009. Upon returning from his tour, the demand for the project became so great that Rockie decided to release the project commercially. One third of album proceeds will be donated to troop-related charities by the artist, significantly more than other projects being released.

Media tour will include: Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" (5/31), Fox Business Network's "America's Nightly Scoreboard" (5/31), Fox Entertainment affiliate feed (5/28), syndicated "Better TV" (5/29, 5/31), "Daytime" (5/31), ABC's "What's The Buzz" (6/1), Fox News Radio (6/1), "The Laura Ingraham Show" (6/2) and "The Daily Buzz" (6/3).

A new website was launched along with his Summer tour schedule, including an appearance at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI, at the nation's largest Vietnam Veterans homecoming (www.lzlambeau.org), his 3rd annual Walter Reed Concert for returning warriors and their families and Chicago's "Rockin' For The Troops" on July 17th, where Lynne will share the stage with Gary Sinise's Lt. Dan Band at Cantingy Park (rockinforthetroops.org).

This collection of songs has no political position or agenda. The album contains eight original compositions and six standards, including an instrumental track featuring 2010 Grammy Award winning artist and guitarist Steve Wariner. A music video for the song, "Heroes Come From Small Towns" has been released to video outlets.

For every copy purchased from the website, Lynne will send another copy of the record to a service member deployed overseas. Consumers can write a note of 'thanks' on the website to accompany CD.

In addition, Rockie co-founded the charitable organization, TRIBUTE TO THE TROOPS, which has donated over $200,000 to help troops and their families. The 7th Annual motorcycle ride will take place on September 10, 11 and 12th.
