Mount Prospect American Idol Finale Watch Party - Wednesday, May 26: 'Lee on the Green'

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill., May 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mount Prospect resident Lee DeWyze is one of AMERICAN IDOL's top two finalists. In celebration of Lee, the Village of Mount Prospect is planning a Watch Party for the show's season finale which airs on Wednesday, May 26 (7:00-9:07 p.m. CT) on FOX. The AMERICAN IDOL television show will broadcast LIVE from Mount Prospect's viewing party during the AMERICAN IDOL finale. Everyone is encouraged to come out and be a part of the excitement as we cheer on our hometown idol, Lee DeWyze.

The party will be held in front of Village Hall (50 S. Emerson) on the Village Green (and surrounding area) from 5 - 10 p.m. The AMERICAN IDOL finale will be shown on a jumbotron television and prior to the program, clips of Lee's AMERICAN IDOL performances and hometown visit on Friday, May 14 will be shown.

The event is free and open to the public. Limited seating will be available, but fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Food and beverage vendors will be on site. No outside alcoholic beverages will be permitted. Parking will be available in the parking deck directly adjacent to Village Hall and in the commuter parking lots along Northwest Highway. Fans coming from outside the area are encouraged to use public transportation. The Village Green is one block north of the Mount Prospect Metra stop. Metra has added an additional train to their schedule for that evening, departing from Mount Prospect to Chicago at 10:45 p.m. Portions of Busse Avenue and Emerson Street will be closed starting at 1 p.m.

Media Parking: Members of the Media are encouraged to arrive at site by
5:00 p.m. in order to properly stage media trucks and cameras. Media trucks
will be staged in the Chase Bank parking lot on the southeast corner of Busse
Ave. and Emerson St. All other media travelers are requested to use the
Village Hall Parking Deck, which is adjacent to Village Hall at 50 S. Emerson
Street.
