WASHINGTON, April 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Grupo Salinas, Fundacion Azteca America and Azteca America Network present a series of events to support comprehensive immigration reform.

The initiatives begin with a forum in conjunction with the Center for Latin American Studies at Georgetown University entitled: "State of Latinos: The Consolidation of the Immigration Debate and its Impact on the Hemisphere." The event, which is co-sponsored by the Institute for the Study of International Migration, will be held at Gaston Hall on April 29, starting at 9 a.m., and feature opening remarks by Grupo Salinas Founder and Chairman Ricardo B. Salinas Pliego, following a welcome by Dr. Carol Lancaster, Interim Dean, of Georgetown's Walsh School of Foreign Service. The forum will include a presentation of the white paper "The State of Latinos: Immigration," by the University of Denver's Center for Community Engagement and Scholarship.

The forum and white paper are in addition to a multi-media informational campaign that includes public service announcements that will be aired on Azteca America that feature Mexican actor Luis Felipe Tovar, a web-based campaign on www.fundacionaztecaamerica.org and printed material that will be distributed by Azteca America affiliated stations in 69 cities throughout the country. The theme of the campaign is "I too am America," emphasizing the important role that immigrants have played in the development of the United States throughout history.
