Family Movie Night is Back with Launch of Television Movie 'Secrets of the Mountain'

~Walmart and Procter & Gamble Create TV Movement Where Parents No Longer have to Lunge for Remote Control~ ~ Randy Jackson to Produce Movie Soundtrack~

CINCINNATI, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) and Walmart (NYSE:WMT) are together furthering their commitment to families by launching the action-packed made-for-TV movie, "Secrets of the Mountain," which will debut Friday, April 16, 2010 at 8/7c on NBC. The soundtrack for the nail-biting, family-friendly drama was produced by music mogul Randy Jackson and includes original tracks from popular artists such as Alisan & Ilsey, Brooke White and Jordin Sparks.

"Secrets of the Mountain" focuses on Dana James, a public defender and single mother, who takes her family to visit a mountain cabin they inherited from their eccentric Uncle Henry, only to find themselves embarking on the adventure of a lifetime. The audience gets to follow Dana and her family through a journey that will change each of them and their relationships forever. An ancient secret and a treacherous quest will test the family like never before. It's an edge-of the-seat thriller that reminds us that when times are tough, families don't run away from problems - they run back to each other.

The movie includes a polished and recognizable group of actors with Barry Bostwick from the popular sitcom "Spin City" playing Uncle Henry Beecham. Paige Turco who starred in the popular family Disney movie "The Game Plan," and TV sagas such as "Big Shots" and "The Agency," portrays matriarch Dana James. The roles of Jake (16), a handsome and popular athlete, and his twin sister Jade (16) a promising musician, were given to Crawford Wilson and Adelaide Kane respectively. Shawn Christian from the NBC daytime drama "Days of our Lives," portrays Tom Kent, a big city lawyer who returned to his small hometown of Tesla Falls to escape the rat race and open up a small law office. And then there's brilliant Kayla Carlson as Madeline or Maddie (11) who's a "chip off the block" young version of Dana with all the brains and wit to show for it.

P&G and Walmart decided to work together in creating this movie after hearing from families who wanted more quality options to be offered on television. The companies conducted a research study with the Association of National Advertisers' (ANA) Alliance for Family Entertainment that revealed that parents across America are seeking more family-oriented entertainment to enjoy together.

"It's important, now more than ever, to offer family-friendly programming on television," stated Paige Turco. "As a parent, I don't want to constantly worry about diving for the remote control to change the channel when I am watching a show with my son, so I'm really excited by the idea of entertaining options for families to watch together. This is a core reason why I decided to work on this project and play the role of Dana James in the movie."

For over five decades, P&G Productions has produced nearly 50 movies of the week, 35 years of "People's Choice Awards," 20 soap operas and a number of beauty pageants and variety shows.

P&G and Walmart are already working on a second movie titled, "The Jensen Project," which is scheduled to air on NBC on July 16. In the interim, the "Secrets of the Mountain" DVD and soundtrack will offer a breakthrough value for families by being sold together, in one bonus pack, exclusively at Walmart on Saturday, April 17, the day after the premiere on NBC.
