COMEDY CENTRAL Records(R) To Release Reggie Watts' 'Why Sh*t So Crazy' CD/DVD On Tuesday, May 18
NEW YORK, April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Internationally renowned vocalist/beatboxer/musican/comedian Reggie Watts is set to release his first full-length comedy record, "Why Sh*t So Crazy," as a CD/DVD package on Tuesday, May 18 on COMEDY CENTRAL Records.
"Why Sh*t So Crazy" CD/DVD was filmed live at venues around NYC this past winter. The album consists of 15 tracks, recorded both live and in the studio. The DVD features his "Why S#!+ So Crazy?" hour special, his hit video "F*** S*** Stack" and three short pieces showing how Watts writes and records his songs.
Watts combines looped vocals created live on stage with his unique brand of improvised comedy. His subjects range from ancient history, technology, magic, spirit elves, dragons, mythology and theology to pop culture. His music incorporates hip-hop, trip-hop, 80s pop alternative, nu-metal and classical opera - no two songs are ever the same. Watts loves to disorient and confuse people in the most entertaining way possible.
The release will be packaged as both a CD/DVD in the digipak format for record retail, as well as DVD/CD in an amaray case for home video retail. Both formats will contain the same content and artwork.
LOOSEWORLD and filmmaker collective Waverly Films have produced the debut music video for "F*ck Sh*t Stack," a Hip-Hop pastiche album single created and performed by Watts. The "F*ck Sh*t Stack" video, co-directed by Duncan Skiles and Ben Dickinson, will make its television debut on COMEDY CENTRAL's "Why Sh*t So Crazy" special on Tuesday, May 18, which features Watts, footage from his tour and original scripted comedy. Online, the video has already gone viral and can be seen at http://vimeo.com/10107253
Watts is currently on tour with Conan O'Brien.
Watts, founding member of the band Maktub, Regina Spektor tour-mate and album guest, Brian Eno-protege, Andy Kaufman Award-winner, ECNY Award winner, Esquire's Best & Brightest featured entertainer and DFA Records' Spaghetti Circus guest vocalist, is amazing in every little thing he does. Combining looped vocals created live on stage with his unique brand of comedy and stunning vocal range and mastering of accents, Watts' performances are consistently hailed as genius by comedy and music fans alike. He has appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," COMEDY CENTRAL's "Michael & Michael Have Issues," co-starred in "The Yes Men Save The World" and on countless overseas television shows. As a solo performer, Watts has played sold-out runs at every comedy festival imaginable and packed houses at Fusebox, SXSW, Bumbershoot, Outside Lands and cities the world-over. Watts recently recorded music to be featured on Louis CK's upcoming show on FX.
