World Champion and Positive Role Model Competes Against Olympian Willie Banks at the USA Masters Track and Field Championships
WASHINGTON, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- World Masters Track Champion, Bruce McBarnette, will compete against 3 time Olympian Willie Banks at the USA Masters Track and Field Championships on March 26, at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, MA in the high jump for men 50 -54 years old.
Willie Banks, who is one of the most famous track and field athletes ever, is a 3 time Olympian and set a world record in the triple jump. He is former president of the US Olympians Association.
McBarnette, who has served for years as a positive role model in the Washington DC area, won 8 World Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships in the high jump and has broken world records for his age group.
Recently, USA Track and Field chose McBarnette, as Athlete of the Year for 2008 for men 39-54 years old. His personal record is 7 feet 1 inch (2.16 meters).
McBarnette is also president of the Real Estate Investment Company, Summit Connection, and is an attorney, and actor. He has spoken about health and success to thousands of people in the Washington, DC metropolitan area where he lives is a sought after speaker.
