For 5th Year, Comcast Named Among Top Places to Work in Connecticut

Hartford Business Journal Ranks Comcast #2 in Best Places to Work Contest

BERLIN, Conn., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- For the fifth consecutive year, Comcast was recognized by the Hartford Business Journal as one of the "Best Places to Work" in Connecticut, earning the number two spot on this year's prestigious ranking.

"We are thrilled to be honored as one of the top places to work in Connecticut for the fifth year in a row," said Doug Guthrie, Senior Vice President of Comcast's Western New England Region, which includes Connecticut. "As a company, we've been working hard to engage our employees and provide them with the tools they need to do their jobs. And not only are our employees telling us they feel empowered, but we're making some meaningful improvements for our customers."

The statewide survey and awards program was created by the Hartford Business Journal to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Connecticut. The 2010 Best Places to Work in Connecticut list is made up of 25 companies, split into two categories: 20 small/medium-sized companies (15-199 employees) and five large-sized companies (more than 200 employees). Comcast earned the second highest score in the large company category.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Connecticut. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Connecticut, and also analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

With the customer demand for Comcast's XFINITY TV, XFINITY INTERNET and XFINITY VOICE, the company has continued to grow its Connecticut workforce, currently employing over 1,400 people across the state.
