Tattoo Hunter - starting on 03/09, Tuesdays at 9 PM ET/ 10 PM PT
One man, no tattoos, no piercing, no scarifications, absolutely no body markings of any kind travels the world taking part in tribal cultures, both primitive and modern. The reason? To seek out why these ancient tribes put themselves through pain (ranging from discomfort to agony) to have their skin transformed into striking canvases of color. If you want a chance to catch the latest adventure reality show, you will want to tune in to the Discovery en Espanol's Tattoo Hunter. It's a documentary-style show in which the "host," tattoo anthropologist Lars Krutak, submerges himself in the world of the tribes he visits, offering up his own body on the altar of science in spine tingling demonstrations.
Out of the Wild: Alaska Experiment - starting on 03/10, Wednesdays at 9 PM ET/ 10 PM PT
Nine ordinary Americans will be flown in, dropped off, and stranded deep in the heart of Central Alaska. Their goal is to make it back to civilization...alive. Left with only the barest of essentials, they will travel sixty of the harshest miles on the planet while battling hunger, fatigue, and an unforgiving winter that will make surviving nearly impossible. Along the way, they will encounter several backcountry shelters that they must utilize in order to protect themselves from Alaska's frigid winter temperatures and whipping winds. This epic test of wills will last almost an entire month and the brutality of life in the wild will tax each member physically as well as psychologically. The group has no idea how long it will take, or how far they must travel, to get Out of the Wild.
I Shouldn't be Alive - starting on 03/11, Thursdays at 9 PM ET/ 10 PM PT
Relive ten heart stopping journeys past the edge of human endurance. Ordinary people thrown into epic struggles for survival tell their own stories while drama brings these incredible experiences to life. Every new episode has an extraordinary physical ordeal at its heart, but there's always an equally powerful emotional journey. What would you do if you suddenly had to accept that you were about to die alone? Would you lose your mind or would you fight to your last breath to defeat unimaginable odds? Moment by moment, survivors relive the moral dilemmas, chance events and desperate decisions that ultimately brought them home.
Whale Wars - starting on 03/12, Fridays at 9 PM ET/ 10 PM PT
Highlighting both the controversial whaling trade and the tactics that Sea Shepherd and its staff and volunteers use to attempt to cripple it, Whale Wars documents the group's sojourn across the icy Antarctic waters at the far end of the globe. With each brand new installment, viewers will embark on a powerful, adrenaline-fueled adventure that will spotlight how Sea Shepherd takes action against alleged illegal whaling operations. The 2010 season promises even more aggressive and adrenaline-fueled adventure as the self-proclaimed eco-pirates continue to fight for marine conservation.
