Valentine's Day Goes Country With Vince Gill's First Collection of Love Songs, Featuring 'Whenever You Come Around,' 'Love Finds You,' 'The Rock Of Your Love' With Bonnie Raitt and More

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- A love song written and sung by Country superstar Vince Gill displays a combination of strength and vulnerability, of sincerity and simplicity, rare among male artists of any genre. That quality shines bright throughout the first collection of love songs of his recording career--Vince Gill - Love Songs (MCA Nashville/UMe), to be released January 26, 2010. The Country Music Hall of Famer personally selected and sequenced his favorites for the 14-track compilation that spans his most popular albums released from 1991 to 2006.

Since moving to MCA in 1989, all 11 of Gill's original albums have charted in the Country Top 6, including 1991's double platinum Pocket Full Of Gold, from which Love Songs culls "If I Didn't Have You In My World." "Nothing Like A Woman" is taken from 1992's quintuple platinum I Still Believe In You.

Honored as Male Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association each year from 1991 to 1995, Gill set a consecutive year record (only George Strait has won as many in total). From that period, Love Songs also retrieves the No. 2 Country smash "Whenever You Come Around" and the No. 3 charting, Grammy-winning title track from 1994's quadruple platinum When Love Finds You. Another Top 10, "You And You Alone," hails from 1996's platinum High Lonesome Sound, which also contributes the hopeful "Given More Time." "What They All Call Love" was first heard on 1998's platinum The Key.

Love Songs mines two albums from the 2000s for half of the collection. From the gold Y2K disc Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye are that album's Top 20 Country title track, "One," "That Friend Of Mine" and "The Luckiest Guy In The World." The groundbreaking 2006 platinum box set These Days, comprised of only original tracks and ranging over a variety of styles, won the Grammy for Best Country Album and included "Faint Of Heart" with acclaimed jazz singer Diana Krall, "The Rock Of Your Love" with blues icon Bonnie Raitt, and "The Only Love."

Overall, Gill has earned 18 CMA Awards (second only to Brooks and Dunn), including Entertainer of the Year in 1993 and 1994. He has also received 20 Grammy Awards to date, the most of any male Country artist. In the SoundScan era alone, he has sold more than 18 million albums. But for the first time, Vince Gill - Love Songs brings together the most beloved love songs from the artist the Country Music Hall of Fame has said "built a career characterized by excellence, integrity, and generosity. He has supplemented his talents as a singer, songwriter, and musician with nobility of spirit, artistic vision, and quick wit, to become one of his generation's great contributors to the ongoing vitality of country music."
