Jazz Musical Artists To Be Honored at the American Smooth Jazz Awards in 2010
MICHIGAN CITY, Ind., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- American and International contemporary jazz artists, radio personalities and journalists will gather to honor their peers at the American Smooth Jazz Awards (ASJA) Friday, October 29, 2010, at the Blue Chip Casino Hotel & Spa, located in Michigan City, Indiana.
"This event will draw the most influential national and international contemporary jazz artists from around the world to award them for their outstanding musical talents," said Bernie Scott, president of Scott & Company Music Group and ASJA Awards.
Scott is asking smooth jazz aficionados to be part of the 2010 awards voting process. "We want smooth jazz fans, from all over the globe, to be part of the voting process - beginning March 15th, the public will be able to vote online for their favorite artists in 18 categories." said Scott. The website for voting is www.AmericanSmoothJazzAwards.com.
The categories, which, in part, include both Male and Female Vocalists, Instrumentalists, Song, Album and Entertainer of the Year, also include 4 International categories.
Award presenters will be coming in from around the world to be part of this event. To date, high profile radio personalities Jimi King (London); Michael Tozzi (Philadelphia); Carmen Kennedy (Cleveland); Doug Thomas (Sacramento) and Lynn Bridges (Las Vegas) will be in attendance.
Jazz pianist, composer and producer David Benoit will be presented with the illustrious Lifetime Achievement Award. Regina Tisdale, wife of the late jazz guitarist Wayman Tisdale will be in attendance to present the Wayman Tisdale Humanitarian Award. Jazz guitarist, Nick Colionne, who will be the musical director, will also be the evening's host, along with Chicago radio personality Rick O'Dell.
