According to a recent redbox Valentine's Day survey, comedies (51 percent) make the best date movie, followed by romances (29 percent) and thrillers (13 percent). So visit redbox and find the perfect film to watch with your Valentine.

"Valentine's Day is a popular day for movie rentals and redbox helps create an affordable date-night at home," said Gary Cohen, senior vice president, marketing and customer experience, redbox. "It's fun to order-in from your favorite restaurant or even make a meal with your Valentine and then settle in to watch a great romantic movie or comedy."

Tickle your Valentine's funny bone with the comedy "Extract" starring Jason Bateman and Mila Kunis or take a chance and rent the hit thriller "Paranormal Activity." "The Proposal" starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds will warm your heart or the newly released "Fame" may inspire a dance with your sweetie. Or let Julia Child motivate you to whip up a Valentine's Day feast in the kitchen and check out Meryl Streep and Amy Adams in "Julie & Julia."

If you're spending the holiday solo, redbox survey respondents recommend avoiding "The Notebook" as it was voted the worst movie to watch if you're single on Valentine's Day (31 percent) followed by "He's Just Not That Into You" (18 percent). On the flip side, consumers chose "The Hangover" as the best movie to watch if you're unaccompanied on February 14 (21 percent).
