Thanks to Donation, Some Salvation Army Volunteers Will Be Ringing and Singing This Holiday Season

iLive donates karaoke machines to The Salvation Army of Greater New York for holiday Red Kettle Christmas campaign

ST. LOUIS, Nov. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- iLive is giving a boost to holiday bell ringers this holiday season by donating fifty "Made for iPod" karaoke machines to The Salvation Army of Greater New York. Putting a new spin on their iconic, annual Red Kettle Christmas campaign, this year, in addition to ringing for donations, some volunteers will be singing along with festive carols as they collect much needed funds for their local friends and neighbors in need.

"We are passionate about offering innovative and quality audio solutions that are as unique as the people that use them," said Bill Fetter, CEO for DPI, Inc., maker of iLive. "By partnering with The Salvation Army and enabling their volunteers to put a fun spin on collecting donations by both ringing and singing with iLive karaoke machines, we hope to help raise both holiday spirits and Red Kettle Christmas campaign donations this year."

The donated iLive iJ309B CD+G Karaoke with Dock for iPod units will keep volunteers singing all day with a dock that both plays and charges an iPod simultaneously, as well as a CD player and digital AM/FM radio. Additional features include a built in speaker, two microphone jacks, video output for television display, and echo and balance controls.

The Salvation Army has seen an increase of over 70 percent for its services meeting basic human needs such as food, shelter and assistance with utility and rent/mortgage payments. In an emergency response, The Salvation Army has enacted its $100 Million Campaign as well as dramatically increased its goal to $3 million for its 2009 Red Kettle campaign. On Friday, November 20, 2009, The Salvation Army Greater New York Division launched its 2009 Red Kettle campaign, and simultaneously, its $100 Million Campaign.
