Shocking New Film 'Kalifornistan' Satirizes Islamic Terrorism in America
Brutal Satire Depicts One Terrorist's Dream of Making it Big in L.A.
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Alexandrian Films, Inc. is pleased to announce its new feature film "Kalifornistan," a provocative satire about an Islamic terrorist who is bent on destroying Los Angeles - until he gets distracted by a sexy exotic dancer. Written and directed by Jason Apuzzo, "Kalifornistan" fuses film, video, documentary and surveillance footage into a cutting-edge narrative on the violence, narcissism and sexual fantasies that fuel contemporary terrorism.
Set in the shadowy Port of Los Angeles, "Kalifornistan" follows the deranged leader of a terror cell called 'Glorious Jihad of Kalifornistan' as he stalks an exotic dancer - and plots the nuclear apocalypse he hopes will make him a celebrity. Starring sultry Govindini Murty as the exotic dancer and featuring shocking monologues by newcomer Isfahan Jones, "Kalifornistan" takes viewers on a twisted journey of the post-9/11 world from Gitmo to Iran, from the dark corners of L.A. harbor into the mind of a terrorist too insane even for Al Qaeda.
"Kalifornistan" stars Govindini Murty, Nick Nyon, John Barrett, and the voice of Isfahan Jones, and features the music of up-and-coming composer Stephen Greaves. "Kalifornistan" is the boldest film to date about the war on terror and the dark psychology behind anti-Americanism.
