Origo Film Group, Raleigh Studios Budapest and FotoKem Announce Alliance for Raleigh's New State of the Art Studio in Hungary.

Origo Film Group, Raleigh Studios Budapest and FotoKem Announce Alliance for Raleigh's New State of the Art Studio in Hungary.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Raleigh Studios, the largest independent studio operator in the United States, has formed a strategic alliance with FotoKem, one of the leading motion picture post production companies in the United States, to operate a full service lab and post production facility out of Raleigh's new state of the art studio in Budapest. Raleigh's European partner in the venture, Origo Film Group, has championed the development of this project from its inception and has been a strong advocate of FotoKem.

"Our goal has been to establish a studio in Europe that will support producers with very strong American and European brands. Having a highly respected company like FotoKem on the lot is a major benefit for the production community. We couldn't be more pleased," said Michael Moore, president of Raleigh Studios.

FotoKem's lab, digital service and visual effects operations will be outfitted with the very latest in technology and host services not available anywhere else in the region. The facility will be directly tied into FotoKem's Los Angeles operations affording productions tremendous flexibility and economies.

"We are excited to expand our reach into Europe and thrilled to be partnering with a company such as Raleigh Studios who share our philosophy to deliver the highest of quality and service to the industry," says FotoKem's CEO, Bill Brodersen.

Origo Film Group and Raleigh Studios are working to attract superior companies such as FotoKem to help build upon the already burgeoning film infrastructure in the region. Like Raleigh, FotoKem carries a strong reputation for quality and customer service and will bring that same expectation to Raleigh Studios Budapest. This pairing could not be a better fit as both companies are committed to making sure their European branches are operated with the same personal care that you would receive at their Los Angeles locations.

Moore went on to say, "having brands like FotoKem and Hollywood Rentals along side Raleigh creates a truly unique opportunity for producers to have the very best of Hollywood and be able to utilize the Hungarian tax incentive program. There is really nothing like it on the continent."

FotoKem is bringing more than just a film processing laboratory, but a complete post production facility with two full digital intermediate suites. FotoKem will provide front end services for film, video and data camera acquisition, visual effects, and advanced 2k and 4k finishing. The facility will be based and built upon FotoKem's deep knowledge and many years of experience in the industry and have the experienced staff to match. Services provided by FotoKem will allow productions to qualify their post production work under Hungary's 20% production tax incentive.

Raleigh Studios Budapest is well under construction and will open its doors in April, 2010. The facility is less than 20 minutes from all major hotels and downtown Budapest making it the closest studio facility to the heart of Hungary. The studio boasts FotoKem's state of the art post production and digital film laboratory, 9 sound stages, including a super stage 45,000 sq. ft. and 65' to the grid, full transportation, set and location lighting and grip with Hollywood Rentals, and line producing with Raleigh Film. All stages, offices and support structures are built from the ground up and engineered to Hollywood standards. Incorporated into the studio's design is a 15 acre backlot perfect for outdoor set builds. A full production training school will also be on lot to help maintain Hungary's existing talent pool while creating a new generation of film crews.

With its central location, most major European cities are less 2 than hours by plane, Raleigh Studios Budapest can serve as a central hub for production throughout Europe while offering comparable crews and services at more economical rates than most other European countries.

In addition to Budapest, Raleigh Studios has locations in Hollywood, Manhattan Beach, Playa Vista, and Baton Rouge. Raleigh's parent company also owns the premier supplier of lighting and grip, Hollywood Rentals. In addition to Budapest, Hollywood Rentals is located in Los Angeles, Charlotte, Orlando and Baton Rouge. Raleigh also offers full line producing and production services through Raleigh Film, servicing the United States and Europe.

Origo Film Group was founded in 2004 with the goal of establishing a production center in Budapest, Hungary. Shortly thereafter Origo partnered with Raleigh to further develop the film studio concept. Origo will offer consultancy in film financing, facilitating and financing production tax credits as well as other film services such as film education and training.
