$160,000 up for grab in Nashville?...In this economy? Yes! And Yes!

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Doorpost Film Project is announcing an "open invitation" period for the general public to participate in the 2010 Doorpost Film Project. General submissions may include links to prior work and must be RECEIVED by 11:59 p.m. EST February 1, 2010.

The fee to enter The Doorpost Film Project is $50 USD per film submission. Filmmakers are permitted to enter as many films as desired with a complete entry form and entry fee accompanying each submission.

Each submitted film shall be a maximum of seven (7) minutes in duration and must be submitted under one of the following topics: Authenticity, Identity, Community, Commitment, Sacrifice, Truth, or Hope.

From first round submissions, 20 Finalists will be selected to write a script on one of the seven topics that they did not select in the first round. From those 20 scripts, 5 filmmakers will be selected and given a budget of $40,000 to create their film. These entries, funded by the Doorpost Film Project, will be used to determine top competition prize-winners.

New Executive Director of Doorpost Films, Dave Spring, is no stranger to Nashville or Doorpost. After serving on The Board of Directors for the past year, Dave took to the task of opening Doorpost Films in Nashville, from it's former home of Jacksonville, Florida. In its 3rd year, Doorpost has already climbed into the Top 25 (out of 11,000) Film Festivals Worth The Entry Fee!! Dave takes the 2010 Film Contest with enthusiasm and the perspective of "wanting to mentor the next generation of great film makers."

The Doorpost Film Project exists to encourage truth-seeking visionaries by honoring their creativity as filmmakers, serving them in the context of building community and sharing their discoveries with the world so that others may have hope.
