The Symphony Guild Announces Artist Lineup for 2009 Event

'Symphony of the Superhero' to Feature DJ Cut Chemist, Violinist Lili Haydn, The Malandros, Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Chorale, Northwest Boychoir, Whittier Elementary Choir, The Raretones and Bells of the Sound

SEATTLE, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Symphony Guild today announced the artist lineup for the 2009 musical event, 'Symphony of the Superhero,' an annual event which benefits Seattle Children's Hospital. World-renowned DJ Cut Chemist, violinist Lili Haydn and Brazilian group The Malandros, join the region's premiere music ensembles including Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Chorale, Northwest Boychoir, Whittier Elementary Choir, The Raretones and Bells of the Sound.

This year's concert will take the audience on a journey to discover the superheroes in these children's lives - family, friends, doctors, and nurses - who help them fight the battle. Audience members will experience a powerful concert as our superhero brings new meaning to bravery in the face of peril, while discovering the superhero that lives inside of us all as we take action to help those in need.

Led by Grammy Award-winning television and film composer and Seattle-native, Mateo Messina, the Symphony Guild creates and produces an annual unique musical experience that modernizes the traditional sense of what a symphony should be and incorporates new elements to leave audiences feeling inspired and enchanted. In addition to performances by some of the region's most celebrated musical ensembles, this year's event will feature a special performance by Rishi Nair, a musical prodigy and patient at Children's Hospital.

The Symphony Guild is part of the Guild Association for Seattle Children's Hospital, one of the nation's premiere pediatric hospitals and the largest all-volunteer fundraising network for any hospital in the country. Each year the guild produces an annual concert to raise funds for uncompensated care, which ensures no child in the region is ever denied medical treatment regardless of their family's ability to pay.

The Symphony Guild has been dedicated to enriching the quality of children's lives by raising funds through this unique concert that fuses music and compassion to provide a musical experience like none other. The funds raised each year consistently land the Symphony Guild on the "Top 25 Fundraising Guilds" list at the hospital.

'Symphony of the Superhero' will take flight on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. The event will feature a silent auction, raffle, and an appearance by former Evening Magazine host, John Curley.

Tickets range from $40 to $55 and are available through the Guild's website, www.thesymphonyguild.org.
