Netflix Invites America to Instantly Watch Horror Legend Roger Corman's Internet Debut, Streamed for All This Halloween Season

Three-Part Web Series Launches October 29 and, in a Plot Twist, Asks the Public to Vote on Who Lives and Who Dies

LOS GATOS, Calif., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Netflix, Inc., (NASDAQ:NFLX) the world's largest online movie rental service, today announced it is collaborating with renowned horror filmmaker Roger Corman ("Little Shop of Horrors," "Pit and the Pendulum") on a series of Internet Webisodes scheduled to debut two days before Halloween. Anyone in America can instantly watch the Webisodes at www.netflix.com/splatter. In a plot twist, Mr. Corman, making his Internet video debut at age 83, is opening up the creative direction of the series by asking the public to vote on the fate of its characters.

Entitled "Splatter," the Webisodes were conceived and produced by Mr. Corman, co-produced by Julie Corman ("Box Car Bertha," "The Westing Game"), directed by horror auteur Joe Dante ("Gremlins," "The Howling") and star Corey Feldman ("Lost Boys," "Stand By Me") in the title role of rocker Johnny Splatter. The first episode of "Splatter" will launch on October 29, with the second installment scheduled for November 6 and the concluding episode slated for November 13 - yes, Friday the 13th.

While anyone in America can instantly watch "Splatter" online on a computer starting on October 29, Netflix members on an unlimited plan will be able to instantly watch "Splatter" on their TVs via a range of Netflix ready devices at the conclusion of the series. Those devices include Netflix ready Blu-ray disc players and new Internet TVs from LG Electronics; Blu-ray disc players from Samsung; the Roku digital video player; Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console; and TiVo digital video recorders.

But as his "frenemies" come to pick the bones clean, Johnny has returned for a deadly encore long after what they thought was his final curtain.
