WXDX-FM's HD2 Channel Offers All Things Penguins 24 Hours a Day
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- WHAT:
Pittsburgh hockey fans have a new home on WXDX-FM's HD2 channel (105.9 HD2), which launched today and offers all things Penguins and NHL -- 24 hours a day. In advance of the season starting, you can follow the defending Stanley Cup champions with coverage of the team's training camp this month.
The programming line-up on Penguins Radio 105.9-HD2 includes live broadcasts starting at 9 a.m. with "Daily Players' Playlist," featuring Penguins players' favorite songs. At 9:30 a.m., the daily show "Penguins Live," hosted by Pittsburgh native and former Islanders play-by-play broadcaster Steve Mears, will air until noon. Following that, a simulcast of "NHL Live" will be played from noon to 2 p.m., with discussion of the team and various NHL content from 2-3 p.m. hosted by The X's very own afternoon host Mark Madden. The six-hour programming block will be repeated during the day and evening.
And advertisers are following suit, with the Penguins already having signed on a half-dozen brands, including Mountaineer Casino, Geico, California University of Pennsylvania, and Qdoba. HD Radio multicasts enable advertisers to target niche audiences that are drawn to the unique content not available on analog radio stations.
