Court is Back in Session with truTV's SPEEDERS FIGHT BACK

Back-to-Back Episodes Air Thursdays at 10 and 10:30 p.m. (ET)

ATLANTA, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Few courtrooms elicit a more amusing collection of excuses from violators than traffic court. And truTV is there to catch the stories with brand new episodes of SPEEDERS FIGHT BACK. The show, which is an expansion of the series SPEEDERS, details the fascinating and often hilarious things people say and do in court in desperate attempts to get out of tickets. Even after more than 125 episodes, the violators featured on the show are still coming up with new and more ridiculous excuses to try and get their ticket dismissed. New episodes currently air back-to-back Thursdays at 10 and 10:30 p.m. (ET).

In SPEEDERS FIGHT BACK, emotional motorists use crazy defenses and outrageous alibis as they square off in court against the police officers who caught them breaking the rules of the road. Drivers nabbed for speeding take their fight - and their bizarre excuses - to Judge David Heilmann, who flexes double authority as both a newly appointed judge and mayor of Oak Lawn, Ill. His unconventional means of enforcing the law and his witty humor bring a fresh face to the second season of the series.

Judge Heilmann is serving his second term as the Mayor of Oak Lawn. A devoted family man, he is extremely passionate about traffic safety. His background in theatre has helped him introduce a comedic take on enforcing traffic laws. Last year, his humorous stop signs posted through the Oak Lawn Community gained national attention for saying such things as "Stop and Smell the Roses" and "Stop, Not Pause."

SPEEDERS FIGHT BACK is produced for truTV by ZOO Productions, an ALL3MEDIA company. Executive producers for ZOO Productions are Barry Poznick and John Stevens. For truTV, Robyn Hutt is executive in charge of production, and Diane Best is executive producer.
