Cameo Carlson Promoted to Executive Vice President of Universal Motown Republic Group (UMRG)

NEW YORK, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Cameo Carlson has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Universal Motown Republic Group (UMRG), it was announced today by Mel Lewinter, Chairman and CEO of the company, Sylvia Rhone, President of Universal Motown Records, and Monte Lipman, President of Universal Republic Records. Formerly, Ms. Carlson served as Senior Vice President of Digital Business Development for UMRG.

Ms. Carlson currently manages digital music initiatives for all of the labels and artists under the UMRG umbrella. Since joining the company in 2007, she has aggressively pursued mobile, online and digital sales and promotions for artists such as Colbie Caillat, Kid Cudi, Drake, Amy Winehouse, Lil Wayne and Jack Johnson.

While at UMRG, Ms. Carlson has enjoyed success with three of the ten biggest digital albums in history (Amy Winehouse's Back to Black, Jack Johnson's In Between Dreams, and Jack Johnson's Sleep Through the Static), breaking mobile ringtone records for first week sales (Lil Wayne's "Lollipop"), as well as achieving top-selling sales of all time (Lil Wayne's "Lollipop") and number of multi-platinum sales (Akon). In September 2008, Ms. Carlson was named one of the Top Mobile Executives by Billboard Magazine for her work at UMRG.

Prior to joining UMRG, Ms. Carlson was Manager of Music Programming and Label Relations for iTunes, overseeing U.S. editorial music programming and label relations for the company. From 2000 to 2004, Ms. Carlson was the rock and alternative programmer for more than 20 stations for AOL's Radio Products, including Radio@AOL, Netscape Radio, Spinner.com and other AOL affiliated online destinations. From 1996 to 2000, Ms. Carlson served as the Morning Show Host/assistant program director for Alternative radio station KFMZ in Columbia, MO.
