The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts Creates Innovative Way to Showcase Student Talent in Partnership With NowCasting.com

NEW YORK, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Distinguished actress, founder and Artistic Director of the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, Joan See is no stranger to coming up with new and innovative ways to help launch the careers of the many aspiring talents that have walked through the conservatory's doors.

Be the first to screen 21 of New York's most promising young actors alongside Ms. See, who will play the role of creative innovator yet again when the NYCDA presents its 2009 Final Reel Showcase live on the web. The web-cast will serve as the first of its kind and was created in partnership with NowCasting.com, a premiere website and notable resource for aspiring actors, musicians, publicists, and casting agents alike.

Every year, The NYCDA auditions thousands of aspiring actors. This end of the year showcase highlights the talent of the best of the best.

The Prestigious New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts was founded by Ms. See in the early 1980's. The innovative two year accredited program was designed to nurture and support the many raw-talented hopefuls looking to make it in the business. This school has also served as the launching pad for the careers of several notable talents working in film and television today. Matthew Fox, Lauren Graham and John-Paul Lavoiser, Shelley Hennig and rising stars Josh Sussman, who is currently appearing in Fox TV's, hit new show, "Glee," and David DelRio, star of Nickelodeon's new series, "The Troop" are just a few of the TV/film sensations that got their start at this prominent institution.

Today, located in the heart of Chelsea, the school occupies 30, 000 square feet of space and offers state of the art facilities including, four multi-camera rooms and two 40 to 50 seat space that have and continue to be used for showcase for productions, such as the acclaimed Final Reel production featuring professionally produced and directed scenes performed by the many talents of the school's graduating class.

Admission to the school is by audition only. No previous experience is required for students wishing to par-take in the prominent two year program. For those who have been accepted, must be invited back to complete the second year. Students fortunate enough to finish the program will earn the equivalent to 60+ college credits which are accepted by more 1,700 colleges and universities world-wide. Aside from the prestigious two-year program offered, the Conservatory also runs a four-week summer program for high school students looking to peruse careers in film and television.
