Two Industry Heavyweights Work Together To Promote Conservation Issues
DENVER, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- WFN: World Fishing Network, North America's only 24-hour fishing lifestyle network, and Trout Unlimited (TU) today announced an extensive three-year marketing partnership. Through the agreement, TU will leverage WFN's multi-media platform and regional production bureaus to promote its conservation and fundraising efforts and in turn, promote WFN, its programs and promotions to its more than 140,000 volunteer members across North America.
"We are honored that Trout Unlimited, one of the largest and most respected conservation groups, sees WFN as the best media platform to spread their message to America's 60 million passionate anglers," says Mark Rubinstein, President of WFN. "It is our hope that we can continue to help this worthwhile organization grow and educate anglers on conserving, protecting, and restoring North America's coldwater fisheries."
Through the partnership, WFN will promote TU's conservation efforts in a variety of ways including; a 52-week on-air and online advertising campaign; regular on-air editorial features on a variety of WFN shows about TU regional conservation initiatives; and support of Trout, TU's official magazine.
In return, TU will provide WFN access to its large and passionate member base through a variety of promotional activities including; regional TU chapter events to energize and engage its members; promotional offers to subscribe to WFN; and contests and promotions developed exclusively for TU members.
"A partnership with WFN is a powerful vehicle to communicate our message conserving, protecting, and restoring North America's coldwater fisheries," said Erin Mooney, National Press Secretary for Trout Unlimited. "WFN's expanded regional programming content and dedication to covering environmental issues offers us many great venues for exposure on the important conservation issues that we tackle throughout the continent. We know that our members will value the support of WFN and benefit from the network."
Like millions of anglers across North America, WFN is committed to supporting important conservation issues and groups that are fighting to preserve North America's waterways and fisheries. WFN is also dedicated to using its resources and powerful media platform to help grow the sport by promoting and championing groups and organizations that are helping to inspire a new generation of anglers to appreciate and respect the world's natural wonders.
About Trout Unlimited
Originally started in 1959 as a company to conserve the coldwater homes of trout, TU has grown to protect and restore the fisheries of dozens of coldwater species throughout North America. These types of fish, collectively grouped into the category of salmonids, have little or no tolerance for higher water temperatures, pollution, or many other issues associated with mankind's encroachment on the environment. TU's goal is to keep these waters fresh, clean, and habitable for these coldwater species of fish.
TU is a private, nonprofit organization with more than 140,00 members who are dedicated to conserving, protecting and restoring North America's trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. In 2009, TU celebrates its 50th anniversary. For more information visit www.tu.org.
