Ms. Dean describes the dress, commissioned by and exclusively created for Ms. Winfrey, as a rich plum matte jersey, dolman-sleeve wrap evening gown. In the pre-design creative process, Ms. Dean envisioned the multimedia icon and groundbreaking humanitarian in "a fabulous, free-flowing dress befitting Ms. Winfrey's grace, dignity, and the magnitude of the occasion."
