Celebrate the 35th Annual Rockport Seafair October 9 - 11!

ROCKPORT-FULTON, Texas, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Rockport Seafair touts three days of fun, Friday through Sunday, October 9-11. Tickets are $5 for adults Friday and Sunday, $7 on Saturday; $2 for children 6-to-12, under 6 admitted free. Festival hours are 5 to 11 p.m., Friday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday. Sea-A-Bration, 6:30 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, features Bon Ton Mikey & the Zydeco Hotsteppers. Entertainment Like No Other

The Rockport Seafair will rock and roll with performances by Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders; Run of the Mill Band; Pacific Islanders; Stewart Man & Statesboro Review; Alexis Saski with live gospel rock and Kevin Hill Jazz Quartet.

"Where else could you dance, and see this line-up for just $7?" says Pat Hall, chairman of the Rockport Seafair. A Parade through downtown with floats, bands, clowns, dancers, acrobatics and jugglers launches the weekend fun. Then it's off to the festival grounds for:

Gumbo Cook-off

Teams compete for seafood gumbo king title on Saturday. On Sunday, enjoy a cup of "No Rules" gumbo - anything from chicken to alligator, $2 per cup.

Cardboard Boat Races

This race challenges amateur boat builders to design and navigate boats made entirely of corrugated cardboard. Following the race there's a popular demolition derby.

Hilarious Crab Races

You've seen horse races, dog races and maybe even sack races; but you've never experienced the absolute thrill and hysteria of the famed Rockport Seafair crab races.

Cooking Demonstration Tent

Taste shrimp etouffee, seafood kabobs, shrimp with pasta, cilantro shrimp and other local dishes all featuring shrimp prepared by area chefs.

Just Desserts Bake-Off

Ah, the sweet life! Contestants offer samplings of their coveted dessert recipes from brownies, decadent cakes, mouth-watering pies, cookies, candies, anything to wow distinguished judges.

Carnival Rides and Games

Take in the Rockport Seafair atop a Ferris wheel, or enjoy plenty of thrilling rides, as well as a fun house.

Military Night - FREE Admission

Free admission on Friday, October 9 to all active duty and retired Military personnel, just show military I.D. Entertainment Friday features recording star Ray Wylie Hubbard and Max Stalling.
