The Sunset Strip Expands Consumer Relief Offers
After Recent Survey Results, The Sunset Strip Will Continue to Offer Economic Stimulus Deals Into September
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The notorious Sunset Strip, which stretches 1.3 miles through the heart of West Hollywood, is appealing to the needs of its consumers. A recent Los Angeles based survey revealed that while more than 63% of those surveyed have cut back on social spending due to the recession, most of them are still looking for social opportunities that won't break their budget. After the results were shared with members of the Sunset Strip Business Association, the organization decided to expand its own version of an 'economic stimulus package' to offer consumers special offers. The special offers were originally slated for summer only, however after the new survey information was gathered, The Strip has decided to continue their summer promotions into September.
"We offered the specials along The Sunset Strip to give some relief to those hit by the recession. We've seen a great turnout this summer so we will continue our special offers until our annual Music Festival begins September 10," explains Todd Steadman, executive director of the Sunset Strip Business Association.
Overall business has been steady along The Sunset Strip, as six new businesses opened along the boulevard this summer. They also held a ground breaking social media campaign with the first of its kind Tweet Crawl [club crawl + Twitter community]. The event was such a success that The Strip's second Tweet Crawl will be held on September 8.
"We've definitely seen more locals visiting The Strip this summer. Perhaps that's due to the recession and less traveling for those living in the area, but it's been fantastic news for us. We feel we've really been able to re-introduce The Strip to the local residents," Steadman states.
The iconic locale, which is packed with more than 150 clubs, restaurants, shops, hotels and music venues, will continue to offer visitors to The Strip special deals. A few include:
-- The Strip's Summer Happy Hour: Restaurants and bars are offering specially priced food and drink happy hours. Including $3 beers, $4 cocktails at Rainbow Bar & Grill; $4 cocktails at Talesai; $5 martinis and $4 appetizers at Mirabelle; half-priced drinks at Saddle Ranch Chop House and Red Rock; and two-for-one drinks at Cabo Cantina. -- Twitter Free Access: Follow Sunset Strip establishments, including The Viper Room, The Roxy Theatre and The Comedy Store, for free tickets and access to upcoming shows throughout the week. -- $5 Nights: Find drinks and dishes for $5 and under at venues including Mirabelle, Red Rock, Viper Room, Tony's Italian Steakhouse, and Rainbow Bar & Grill.
The Sunset Strip's "consumer relief" offers will run until September 10, 2009- which is the start of the second annual Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) - this year honoring rock icon Ozzy Osbourne and featuring a full-day street festival and performances at the legendary six music venues. As part of the extended offer, Sunset Strip businesses are also offering special deals throughout the weekend of the Sunset Strip Music Festival for festival attendees who show their ticket or pass:
-- Leona Edmiston: Saturday, Sept. 12 street festival attendees may show their ticket or wristband to receive $50 off any current collection frocks. -- Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood: Festival attendees may enjoy a "Sunset Menu" with all items priced at $10.20.
