Strategic Long-Term Partnership Between QJY and Guangdong Foshan Television for TV Talk Shows and Variety Shows Production with Estimated Turnover of RMB20 Million
HONG KONG, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Qin Jia Yuan Media Services Company Limited (Stock Code: 2366, hereinafter referred to as "QJY" or the "Group") announced a long-term co-operation agreement with the Guangdong Foshan Television Broadcasting Company ("Foshan Television") to produce talk shows and variety shows, which will be distributed nationally and internationally.
Founded in 1987, Foshan Television is a member of the Foshan Media Group Incorporated, and possesses advanced facilities for production, broadcasting, and transmission. It has a 1,500 square meter studio, some of the best production facilities in Mainland China, and experienced staff and production teams, all of which will be used in the collaboration with QJY.
In recent years, Foshan Television has focused on in-house productions and the quality of these shows is reflected in its reception of national awards such as the Highflyer Award (awarded by the Chinese Government) and the Golden Eagle Award. Foshan Television also provided comprehensive coverage of the Asian Cultural Ministers' Forum and the 7th Annual Asian Arts Festival. In recent years, Foshan Television has also expanded its production of major variety shows and promotion activities, and has been intentionally building its own cultural brand of entertainment such as the Miss Zhujiang (Pearl River) Pageant. Launched in 2006, the pageant is now in its third year running. Its success and credibility is reflected by the fact that the winners of the pageant have all automatically qualified for and become finalists in the Miss China International Pageant organized by Television Broadcasts Limited ("TVB"). The Miss Zhujiang Pageant has become one of the most exciting and anticipated events in the Pearl River Delta region.
According to Dr. Anita Leung Fung-Yee, the Chief Executive Officer of the Group, "Foshan Television has invested a huge amount of its resources into its state-of-the-art studio and facilities. Its influence and position in the media industry in Mainland China is evidenced by its ongoing long-term partnerships with TVB, ATV and Phoenix Television for program production and employee training. The current strategic partnership between QJY and Foshan Television reflects the QJY Group's excellent reputation in the industry, and the favourable terms in this collaboration with QJY will allow the QJY Group to take advantage of Foshan Television's impressive entertainment platform and facilities, which will take us into a new phase of entertainment production. We are looking forward to great success in producing more cost effective, more diverse, and more attractive entertainment for our viewers in the very near future."
Chairman of the QJY's Strategy Committee, Mr. David Liu, stated that "QJY has a seasoned creative team and an extensive network of artists in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and overseas. With such rich experiences and deep resources behind both QJY and Foshan Television, the multi-times potential behind this partnership is simply formidable. Since 2004, Foshan Television's annual revenue has exceeded RMB100,000,000, and it has experienced steady growth in its operating income. It is on its way to becoming one of the three strongest Cantonese media groups in Mainland China. This partnership of QJY and Foshan Television has great potential to develop further in other areas."
Foshan Television follows in the footsteps of nine other major TV stations and media companies in Mainland China to forge a long-term partnership with QJY. These nine other partners are situated in Beijing, Shanghai, Fujian, Chongqing, Jiangxu, Hubei, Guangdong, Harbin, and Dalian. Dr. Leung anticipated that revenue from distribution of talk shows and variety shows in the second half of 2009 and 2010 could reach RMB20,000,000. The first joint production will be a talk show similar to the renowned American talk show, "THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW".
