Peter Gabriel's Human Rights NGO WITNESS Elects Marko Ahtisaari, Andrew Puddephatt and Amy Robbins to Board of Directors
NEW YORK, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- WITNESS, the international human rights organization founded by musician and activist Peter Gabriel, has elected Marko Ahtisaari, Andrew Puddephatt, and Amy Robbins to its Board of Directors.

As WITNESS begins implementing its new strategic plan, the organization is similarly expanding its board membership to include those with expertise in technology, digital communications, human rights campaigning, and philanthropic endeavors.

Mr. Marko Ahtisaari is CEO and co-founder of Dopplr, the online service for smarter travel. Mr. Ahtisaari is an entrepreneur, with particular expertise in the mobile phone industry and social media.
Mr. Puddephatt is a Director of Global Partners & Associates (GPA) and an expert in digital communications. For twenty years, Mr. Puddephatt has been a leader working at the intersection of transparency, freedom of expression, technology and media.
Ms. Robbins is a global philanthropist and humanitarian activist and the Founder of The Nduna Foundation, which focuses investments on improving the lives of children. She also serves on the Boards of the US Fund for UNICEF, Human Rights Watch, Millennium Promise, and The Elders, amongst others.
The WITNESS Board now has 13 members with expertise in a variety of fields including: innovation, social media, finance, art, communications, technology, fundraising, strategic planning, human rights and nonprofit management.
