Penton Media Announces Remix Hotel San Francisco 2009
Traveling music production and audio technology event series returns to the Bay Area Oct. 22-23, 2009 for the first time in five years
NEW YORK, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Remix Hotel is returning to San Francisco Oct. 22-23, 2009, bringing its innovative audio and video technology programming to SAE Institute's brand-new facility for two days of music-production workshops, industry panels, new product demos, and artist performances.
Designed to serve and celebrate the Bay Area's dynamic urban, electronic, and independent production and performance community, Remix Hotel San Francisco, presented by Mix, Electronic Musician and Remix, provides producers, engineers, artists, and DJs with the opportunity to discover new tools and techniques to take their music and careers to the next level. Complementing the technology exhibition, Remix Hotel San Francisco will feature its signature panel series, where industry insiders offer attendees unique insight into both music and audio production techniques and ever-changing business models.
The event will coincide with the opening of the new SAE facility in San Francisco's SOMA district. "The audio, games and film/animation industries are all here and are constantly pushing new boundaries," says SAE San Francisco Director Einar Johnson. "Remix Hotel is the perfect event for San Francisco because it brings all of these amazingly creative people together for this intense moment of time and allows them to get connected. SAE San Francisco is looking forward to hosting this event as it means an even greater opportunity to celebrate the opening of our newest school in the U.S."
SAE will celebrate its San Francisco debut by hosting the Remix Hotel opening-night party, which will be free and open to the public.
In addition to hosting Remix Hotel San Francisco, SAE will bring hands-on, high-level technical instruction in recording and production concepts and applications to attendees of all ability levels. Remix Hotel's technology partners will also be on hand to show off their latest gear and offer product demos and user tips. And the event's panel series will cover topics ranging from the state of recording in San Francisco, the monetary value of music, DIY career approaches, and more.
"After five years, it is such a pleasure to be bringing this event back to our home turf," says Remix Hotel Content Director Erin Hutton. "Our panels are sure to be a hit yet again, and the programming partnership with SAE San Francisco will elevate the educational aspect of Remix Hotel to new heights. We have some unique surprises in store, and I'm certain all attendees will leave armed with new tools and techniques to apply in their home studios."
Past Remix Hotel events have featured appearances from Chuck D, Paul van Dyk, Pete Rock, Tosca, the Crystal Method, Dan the Automator, Andy Caldwell, Just Blaze, Photek, Junior Sanchez, Chris Vrenna, Bryan-Michael Cox, and Sound Tribe Sector 9, among others.
Remix Hotel San Francisco registration opens on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009.
Tickets for the two-day event are $79 in advance, $99 on site and $59 for students (with valid student ID). Day passes will be available on site for $59 as well.
