Extreme Music, the worldwide production music library unit of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, today announced an innovative partnership with Sir George Martin CBE to create the Grandmaster Production Music Library.

Consistently way ahead of the production music curve, Extreme is set to release a stunning, first-of-its-kind production music library that captures the sounds of music super-producers. The deal marks the next in the long line of star-studded signings by Extreme including Hans Zimmer, Quincy Jones, Snoop Dogg, Rodney Jerkins and Vince Clarke among others.

The brainchild of Sir George, famously crowned "the fifth Beatle," and acclaimed music business aficionado and entrepreneur Mark Ross, Grandmaster focuses on the geniuses "behind the glass" whose creative and innovative input transforms the recording studio into a place where the magic happens.

Of the announcement, Sir George Martin, an Academy Award and seven-time Grammy award winner, said, "The producer's challenge is to inspire creativity, push the boundaries of performance and capture raw talent in a way that allows artistry to flourish. The world's best producers are able to achieve this time and again and with the Grandmaster series, our goal is to deliver the sounds of these iconic producers to professional music users everywhere."

Initial projects by Hugh Padgham, Jack Douglas, Terry Date and Sir George himself are already deep in the post production stages and due for release in late 2009. .

Mark Ross commented, "Having spent most of my life in the studio, I am intimately familiar with the crucial role that the producer plays in the success of an artist. What would 'Sgt. Peppers' have been without Sir George Martin? 'Thriller' without Quincy Jones? 'Ghost in the Machine' without Hugh Padgham? 'Toys in the Attic' without Jack Douglas? Grandmaster puts the most influential producers of the last 50 years on center stage and the results are truly mind blowing."

In making the announcement, Russell Emanuel, Co-CEO of Extreme Music said, "When conceiving this series, George and Mark's vision was to reach for the sky with their wish list. They have achieved a 100% success rate with every producer they have approached and the results coming out of the sessions have been off the chain. We are confident that the Extreme Grandmaster series will evolve into a 'Who's Who' of producer mega talent."
