'Terminator Salvation' Showcases Boot Developed for U.S. Elite Special Forces

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Oakley, Inc. today announced that its S.I. Assault Boot(TM) will be appearing in "Terminator Salvation," the highly anticipated fourth installment of the blockbuster "Terminator" film franchise. The civilian version of combat gear developed for the U.S. Elite Special Forces, Oakley's S.I. Assault Boot is worn by the character John Connor.

Oakley will be presenting promotional tie-ins to the movie, which opens nationwide on Thursday, May 21st. Oakley Stores throughout the U.S. and at select locations in Canada will provide two complimentary movie passes to the film with purchases of $175 or more, while supplies last.

The Oakley S.I. Assault Boot is a street version of gear developed specifically for the U.S. Elite Special Forces. A lightweight, athletically inspired design, it combines supple full-grain leather with a moisture-wicking liner and prime urethane shock absorption. Engineered with directional lug geometry, the advanced polymer tread maintains wet/dry traction on smooth and rough terrain. Oakley developed the boot with special attention paid to load bearing stability, long-haul durability and the comfort of an optimized anatomical fit. A jump-ready design, the S.I. Assault Boot features an over-the-ankle boot shaft, an abrasion resistant toecap, and a gusseted tongue to prevent entry of water and debris.

"Terminator Salvation" is set in post-apocalyptic 2018 where John Connor (Christian Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future that Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of a stranger named Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington). Connor must now decide whether Marcus can be trusted. But as Skynet adapts new strategies to end the Resistance forever, Connor and Marcus must find common ground to take a stand against the onslaught -- to infiltrate Skynet and meet the enemy head-on.

The fourth installment in the blockbuster "Terminator" film franchise, "Terminator Salvation" is a presentation of The Halcyon Company. McG directed the film from a screenplay by John Brancato & Michael Ferris. "Terminator Salvation" was produced by Moritz Borman, Jeffrey Silver, Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson. Peter D. Graves, Dan Lin, Jeanne Allgood, Joel B. Michaels, Mario F. Kassar and Andrew G. Vajna served as executive producers. The film stars Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Anton Yelchin, Moon Bloodgood, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, Jane Alexander and Helena Bonham Carter. "Terminator Salvation" is being distributed domestically by Warner Bros. Pictures. Columbia Pictures is distributing the film in most international territories (excluding South Korea and select Middle East territories). The film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and language.
